How long have you been investing for?
Describe your investment goals. Are they long-term, short-term, are you on track? Have you changed your investment strategy over the years? If so, how?
Investment goals are long-term. In the beginning, I lost quite a lot of money trying to invest in trends and hitting the 2000 bubble. Then I was only investing in funds and bonds for a while to reduce risks. That was reasonably successful. We bought an apartment a few years back so most invested money was used for this purchase. A year ago I started investing proactively again. Mainly long-term goals with investements in companies and industries I know and understand. Plus some passive investments with rather conservative goal of value protection like ETFmatic.
Why did you decide to use ETFmatic?
I wanted to try robo-investement. As mentioned, I want to invest part of my savings in rather conservative value-protecting investements and do that passively. Robo-Investments seems perfect for that. Knowing Johan personally, I chose ETFmatic.
Can you provide a brief overview of your experience so far - How much are you investing, how long for, and how satisfied are you with returns to date?
My experience has been positive so far. Everything went smoothly and easily – very little admin hassle and interaction needed – so perfectly fitting my goal of finding a passive investement where I don’t have to do or think much. I’ve been investing for about 6 months, with a monthly plan which works very well. Returns are low, but positive. So again, this is what I was looking for at ETFmatic and it is delivering on it.
How comfortable are you with using a robo-advice platform, how does it compare with your investing experience prior?
Why not invest in robo-advice platforms? I think programmed well, Robos are better than humans, especially if you don’t invest much money and a personal advisor doesn’t pay off. At the same time, their fees are very low, a big improvement to my previous experience with funds, which are normally overpriced.
